How affiliate links work
When you click a product link on Giftly and visit the retailer's site, a small cookie is set in your browser that tells the retailer you came from us. If you then make a purchase (within 24 hours for Amazon, typically), we earn a small percentage commission — usually 1–8% depending on the product category.
This costs you absolutely nothing. The price you pay is exactly the same whether you came from Giftly or typed the URL directly.
Our affiliate partners
- Amazon Associates — Our primary affiliate program. Most product links go to Amazon.
- ShareASale network — Used for some specialty retailers and experience-based gifts.
- Rakuten Advertising — Used for some premium and luxury product categories.
We add new affiliate partners occasionally. Any partner we work with will be covered under this disclosure.
How this affects recommendations
It doesn't. Our AI ranking is based entirely on relevance to the user's description — not commission rates. A product that pays 1% commission has exactly the same chance of being recommended as one that pays 8%.
We chose this approach deliberately. The only way Giftly works long-term is if users trust that our recommendations are genuinely good. Gaming recommendations for higher commissions would destroy that trust and, ultimately, the business.
